TITLE: Deceptive Innocence, Part One (Pure Sin)
AUTHOR: Kyra Davis
GENRE: Contemporary Romance/Suspense
RELEASE DATE: 01/13/2014

Part 1 of Deceptive Innocence—the first book in the sensual, thrilling Pure Sin trilogy by New York Times bestselling author Kyra Davis (Just One Night). A beautiful young woman is out for revenge—only to find the man she’s targeting has secrets as dangerous as her own, and a passion she cannot resist.
Ever since her mother died while serving time for a murder she didn’t commit, Bell’s been focused on one thing: revenge. She knows her mother was set up by the head of the powerful Gable family, international bankers who will crush anyone for profit, or amusement. Now she’s determined to take the Gables down—from the inside.
Seducing her way into the life—and bed—of the family’s rebellious youngest son, Lander, she figures it should be easy to uncover the secrets she needs to destroy his family. But Lander turns out to be much more complicated than Bell ever could have imagined. He’s enticing, intelligent, mysterious—and their sexual chemistry is off the charts. Lander is still the target, but when he touches her, he starts seeming much less like an enemy… Which is why her anger is more necessary than ever: Memories of her mother must help fuel her quest for justice to the very end.

Deceptive Innocence, Part One, the first book in Kyra Davis' "Pure Sin" series introduces you to Bell or Bellona, or so that is the name that she is going by. Bell is determine to avenge her mother's murder sentence, which also led to her suicide. After many years of planning, she decides that she will gain her revenge by taking down the Gables, who are family that she feels is responsible for framing her mother, thus leaving her, a child, with no family, forced to fend for herself as she bounced from foster home to foster home. No tactic is off limits, as she uses her intellect and beauty to seduce Lander Gable, and wit, honesty and promised loyalty as infiltrates the home and life Travis and Jessica Gable.
Even after years of research and careful planning, she cannot quite shield herself from the feeling she gets when she is touched by Lander. Bell is supposed to be the one doing the seducing, yet she reminisces about his touch and his words when he's not around. She constantly has to remind herself of the bigger picture and why she is with him in the first place. Does it really work?

I absolutely love this story. First of all, it is well written. You can tell that each character was carefully thought about: their physical appearances, their personalities, background stories, etc. These are complex characters and they are written into the story in such a way, that they bring life to it. As the title suggest, deception, is a common theme of this story and is seen in more than just the main character, Bell.
My favorite part of , Deceptive Innocence, is the romance and seduction between Bell and Lander.  Bell is there for a purpose, but clearly, she is the one that is being taken and possibly falling in love with the "enemy". She has these wandering thoughts of him and his touch, when she is supposed to be focused. I love how Lander demands that she only keeps her eyes on his while they are in the throes of passion. I also love how he make these comments and observations about Bell, that almost have her convinced that he knows her agenda. Hmmmm... does he?
I am anxiously waiting for Part 2! February 17th cannot get here soon enough.
recommend this to all who are looking for more than a romance read. This is romance and psychological suspense, with just the right amount of sex and lust. I LOVE IT!
