"Untangle Me" is the love story of Kayden and Sophia, two individuals from two very different walks of life, who happen to meet and fall in love over social media and long distance dating. Each possess what the other has been missing and longing for in a long lasting romantic relationship. Kayden brings color and spice to Sophia's "navy blue" life. Sophia is just the docile, gentle, sweet, and angelic soul that Kayden needs. She's his stability. But this relationship is far from perfect and far from stable. There are a few obstacles and demons from Kayden's dark past that jeopardize their relationship.
First of all, this is such a well written novel. Chelle does brilliant job of putting you right into the story, especially when she describes NOLA. I love that the story is written in both Kayden's and Sophia's POV (point of view) and that there is no question how the other character is feeling in certain scenes.
What I enjoyed most about "Untangle Me" is how realistic this story/relationship between Kayden and Sophia is. For the most part, it is not far fetched. In fact, it was quite relatable at times. I felt for Sophia when she hadn't heard from Kayden and when her new found love/relationship seemed like it was just "too good to be true." My heart broke for Sophia in this story, because she came from a place of loneliness before Kayden, and the only thing worst than being or feeling lonely, is being in a relationship and feeling lonely, neglected, etc.
"Untangle Me" has it's highs, lows, ups, downs, happy, and sad moments and it is a story filled with JOY, LOVE and PASSION.
I enjoyed every word! It's definitely, in my opinion a 5 STAR READ!

The thought of Sophia being with another man makes my skin crawl and pisses me off. She’s mine, and I’d like to think that I’ve been the only man in her life and the first one to taste her, but I know I’m lying to myself. Ignorance is bliss, and I’d rather stay in the dark.
After our child was born, I thought it was necessary to get help to control my drinking. I needed to make sure I never walked down the path of self-destruction again. I had too much to lose. For the first time in my life, there was something more important than myself or even Sophia. There’s a tiny little life that depends on me and needs my love and adoration.
I didn’t want to go to group counseling – I’ve done that before, and it sucked; it wasn’t more than a temporary fix. I needed something to get to the root of my addiction and allow me to find other ways to cope with the pressures in life besides at the bottom of a bottle. The counselor told me to write down the major events in my life – the ones that caused my drinking to go out of control or drove me to drink.
He said I needed to understand the cycle. What came first – the booze or the problems? He asked me to write a journal about my life. Everyone who I could remember that triggered my drinking, use of drugs, and events that were caused by my addiction that had an impact on my life. I didn’t see the use in writing it for someone else to read and analyze, but he said I would understand it in time.
Where do I start the tangled mess that was my life? Do I start with my first taste of booze, the first sniff of coke, or the crazy bitches I’ve experienced? There will be bits that I leave out; things I don’t want the world to know. I’ve included the ones that show what has molded me into the man I am today. The ones that will fill in the gaps on my troubled journey that Sophia and I overcame and show the depths of my depravity and addiction before Sophia walked into my life and turned my world upside down.
I’ll start at the beginning, what led me off the path of righteousness through my moment of self-destruction and finally salvation in the arms of a loving woman too good to be mine.

First of all, this book, "Kayden: The Past", while being part of the "Love At Last Series", is like "Untangle Me", a standalone novel. But I must say that reading "Untangle Me" first, really further connects you to Kayden, the man, and gives you complete understanding of his struggles and addiction.
WOW! Kayden is a smart, strong, sexy man with two very big weaknesses: LIQUOR and LADIES. He has a salacious appetite for bad girls with dirty mouths and he love his liquor. They both seem to be his downfall. Kayden really just seems to be a man looking for love in the wrong places, and with the wrong sort. He turns to the alcohol when his relationships crumble. Then the addiction to the liquor and ladies consumes his life entirely.
"Kayden: The Past" is filled with HOT scenes. One thing for sure is Kayden is a "big" boy who can handle his own in the bedroom, strip club, bathroom, or any room for that matter. And he aims to please and also ruin. One of my favorite scenes is the last sexual experience Kayden has with his wife. He pleasures her and ruins her at the same time. Hell hath no fury like a scorn Kayden. You hurt him and he will fuck you over .....literally.
